External Catheter

An External Catheter is like a condom with the tip connected to a tube which in turn attaches to a urine drain bag. It is held in place through adhesives or foam bands. Leading catheter adhesives incorporate hydrocolloid technology. A hydrocolloid is a gel that comes impregnated in the adhesive and serves to draw moisture away, enhance wear time, and improve user comfort. An External Catheter does not enter the urethra, and it’s the most simple catheter to use.
